INDIGESTION AND HEARTBURN
Indigestion Causes
This is partly caused
due to hormonal changes and later the growing womb
pressing on the stomach.
Remedies
- Try
eating smaller meals more often.
- Sit
up straight when you are eating as this takes
the pressure off your stomach.
- Avoid
foods that cause indigestion problems, e.g., spicy
foods, fried foods etc.
Heartburn
Causes
Heartburn is a form of
indigestion in which a burning sensation extends
from the stomach into the throat when acid is released
up through the oesophagus. It is due to hormonal
effects, which delay passage of food through the
stomach, combined with the pressure of the growing
baby.
Remedies
- Sleep
well propped up and especially keep your head
up by use plenty of pillows.
- Drink
a glass of milk when you have heartburn problem.
Keep a glass of milk by your bed in case you wake
up with heartburn in the night.
- In
case of too much trouble consult your doctor.

Avoid eating or drinking a few hours before going
to bed.
