Fashions change, styles come and go. But elegance
achieved through attention to details knows no Dhamaal.
JJ Valaya, the couturier with a rich opulent look
as his trademark showcased his spring/summer collection
in an opulent ambience. The most refreshing thing
about his collection was the paired-down look that
he presented, very contrary to his signature style.
The show had a split-level backdrop, complete with
huge audio- visual screens and a longish ramp.
The outfits were mostly in chiffon, double georgette,
voiles and blends in typical summer hues of pastels,
aqua, lime green and orange.
Minimal embellishments or surface ornamentation was
the fresh look that JJ had. His pret-a-porter collection
also included short kurtas or tunics with straight
pants in drawstrings, All in all, JJ gave a new dimension
to his signature style.
Necklines were mostly deep Vs, plunging deep for a
dicolleti effect. Crystal embedded and sequins stuck
on hemlines, necklines and slits and occasional outfits
with butis spread all over the kameez, were the maximum
decoration Valaya went for.
The glory of tradition, the soul of today.
This philosophy represents a further extension of
the JJ Valaya design concept - one which has earned,
over the years, for fashion scene of India. Today
JJ Valaya is associated with the finest in high fashion,
interiors, furniture, accessories, footwear and haute
couture.
